Hey bloggers, Sorry I haven't been about for a while but thought I would do another blog post about my second University brief. Me and my partner Gabi decided to do it on 70's glam and sex, power, and gender fluidity. We wanted to focus on the influence the 70's has on trends and government issues that are current. The 70's was a time of sexualisation and how women and nudity was being spoken about more openly and currently the #freethenipple campaign is becoming massive globally about how women's body parts should not be seen as just a sex symbol, but purely another part of the body.
We focussed on the glam rock of the 70's in this particular shoot and I hired out the disco room is a club called Pryzm in Brighton. It was absolutely perfect for the image we was trying to create. The idea behind this particular shoot is women feeling empowered by there own bodies, and not just look sexy for men, but for their own esteems. The concept was to have this shoot featured in a female magazine, to promote female confidence.
The garments in the shoot:
Black leotard: Missguided
Fur coats & scarf: Topshop
Culotte Jumpsuit: Topshop
Heels: Newlook
Boots: 70's boutique (vintage item)
Necklace: topshop
More shoots, and edits to come! Keep posted!
